A Wong moves to Mandarin Oriental Mayfair for summer pop-up

Chef Andrew Wong is to bring A Wong to the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair in London next month as his two-Michelin-starred restaurant undergoes an extensive refurbishment.

The six-week summer residency will start from 18 August and serve only dinner from Wong’s signature Collections of China menus.

The pop-up will be located within the private dining spaces next to the hotel’s Atrium Restaurant and welcome the entire A Wong team.

The original Pimlico restaurant, which was run by Wong’s parents for almost 30 years prior to the chef taking it over in 2012, is due to reopen in the autumn.

A Wong’s last day of service in its current form will take place on 1 August.

The Mandarin Oriental Mayfair opened in June 2024 and was previously home to chef Akira Back’s first UK restaurants, but the partnership ended roughly a year after launch.

Akira Back was replaced by Somssi by Jihun Kim, which itself closed in March this year.
