Soho House & Co has appointed Andrew Carnie to the new role of chief commercial officer as the group of private members clubs, hotels and restaurants focuses on growing its digital, retail and membership business.
Carnie will join the company on 3 June from retail brand Anthropologie, where he was group president, having joined the company in 2013 as executive director.
At Anthropologie, he doubled the home business sales and helped deliver five years of consecutive double-digit sales growth via the company's digital business. He also oversaw the opening of Anthropologie's first stores in mainland Europe.
In his new role, he will report to Soho House's chief executive Nick Jones as oversees the development of the company app so that it offers more for members, grow Soho Home and oversee the expansion of Soho Works, as well as expand complementary non-House concepts around the world.
Jones said Carnie will be a key component in the company's next stage of growth. "Andrew has a proven track record of growing businesses by being focused on their most important element, the customer," he explained. "As a result, whether he has been looking at retail, digital, experiential or food and beverage, he has always been a success.
"Being customer and member obsessed is our ethos too, so the match was a natural one. He will be a key component in helping Soho House move into its next stage of growth."
Carnie added: "Soho House is a business I have always admired and the opportunity to be part of its journey was too good to turn down. I am excited to help it grow, especially in retail and digital as both have huge potential, but also across its core business. I can't wait to get going."
Soho House & Co's eclectic portfolio of global businesses comprises 23 private members' clubs and hotels, including the Ned and Soho Farmhouse, 13 restaurant brands, the Soho Home collection of furniture and interior accessories and Soho Works workspace.
Soho House Hong Kong and Soho Warehouse in downtown Los Angeles will opening this year, while launches in Paris and Milan have been confirmed for 2020.
