Andy Roger leaves Cameron House after a decade at the resort

Andy Roger has left his role as resort director of Cameron House in Loch Lomond after ten years at the hotel.

He joined the hotel as operations director in March 2013, moved into the role of resort general manager a year later, and held the position of resort director from March 2016 for more than seven years.

He oversaw the hotel's £17.5m extension following a fire in which two guests died in December 2017.

Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Roger said: "So this week I've said farewell to Cameron House 10 years to the day since I joined. It has been an incredible journey with some really tough challenges to overcome but I leave a magnificent team who will continue to drive the resort forward to delivering great experiences and positive results.

"Having overseen the redevelopment, reopening and expansion of the resort culminating in the new Lomond Wing opening late last year, now felt the time to step away."

He added: "I will miss Cameron House – the Cameron Clan make the resort what it is and they will continue to lead the business to future successes. A special note of thanks to my team – a good few of whom I worked with for most if not all of those ten years. I am sure the business and most importantly the team will go from strength to strength."

Roger revealed that he intends to "take a break for a few months" and spend more time with his family before embarking on his "next challenge".

Reacting to the announcement, Judith Brown, head gardener at Cameron House, said: "Thank you so much for your unwavering support for all the exterior projects at Cameron House not just throughout the rebuild but from when you first started your role. It will be very strange not seeing you around the resort especially for the members of staff who have travelled this journey with you."

Robert Erskine, maintenance manager at Cameron House, added: "It has been a pleasure to be a part of that journey and I wish you nothing but all the very best for the future."

A spokesperson for Cameron House confirmed Roger's departure, adding "We wish him the best. He leaves the hotel in the trusted hands of General Manager, Allan Wilson, who will continue to lead the 400 strong team until a new Resort Director is appointed in due course."

It comes after Ben Danielsen announced that he left his role as general manager of Cameron House last August.
