Anna Darnell has been promoted to general manager at the Grove in Hertfordshire.
The former resort director will now be responsible for strategy, operations and revenue management across the 300-acre estate, overseeing areas ranging from front of house and security to housekeeping and golf.
She first joined the Grove in 2005 as corporate golf co-ordinator and over the years has held roles including director of golf and resort leisure director, where she managed spa, activities and leisure revenue.
Darnell will be supported by HR director Danielle Michaels, financial controller Andy Watson, culinary director Maarten Geschwindt and marketing director Lucy Chase-Gardener. All five of them will report into group managing director for Ralph Trustees, Bernard Murphy.
The Grove occupies the former home of the Earls of Clarendon and features 214 guest rooms, a Sequoia spa, a championship golf course, kitchen garden and several restaurants.
