The Beaumont to reopen later this month

The Beaumont hotel in London's Mayfair is set to reopen at the end of August, when it will also relaunch its Colony Grill restaurant and relocated Le Magritte bar.

New dishes on the menu at the Colony Grill, overseen by executive chef Ben Boeynaems, will include raw Orkney scallop with Waldorf salad and green apple vinaigrette; monkfish Wellington with roast celeriac, braised salsify and hen-of-the-woods; Scottish Gigha halibut with buttered Dorset crab, saffron gnocchi, fennel and crab bisque; and sunchoke risotto with sunflower seed and truffle pesto and pickled golden sultanas.

Le Magritte has moved to a new area within the hotel, with new interiors and furnishings. The 30-cover space will be run by newly appointed bar manager Antonino Lo Iacono, previously bar manager of Mark's Club in Mayfair and head bartender at Dukes London. Le Magritte also now has its own terrace overlooking Brown Hart Gardens.

The space Le Magritte formerly inhabited is now Gatsby's Room, which has been redesigned and will offer a new afternoon tea menu.

In addition to refurbishments, a new two-bedroom suite has been added to the hotel. The Colony Grill and Le Magritte will open on 27 August.

Ellerman Hotel Company, which is owned by the Barclay family, bought the leasehold of the property in 2018, four years after the hotel was opened by restaurateurs Chris Corbin and Jeremy King. Grosvenor is the freeholder of the building.

Sir Nicholas Soames is chairman of the hotel and Duncan Palmer joined the property in April as managing director, replacing former general manager Jannes Soerensen. The hotel has 50 rooms and 22 suites and studios.
