Big Mamma Group to open seventh London restaurant

Big Mamma Group is to open its seventh restaurant in London this autumn, in Bank.

A LinkedIn job listing confirmed the Franco-Italian restaurant group’s plans to open Edmondo in October.

Further press materials have since confirmed the Milanese-inspired Edmondo will open in November at No. 6 Lombard Street, serving over 200 covers.

The Italian osteria takes design cues from Piero Portaluppi’s Villa Necchi Campiglio and features a central bar, an open kitchen counter and three private dining rooms for between 10 and 24 covers: La Libreria, Il Salotto, and Il Ridotto. 

Edmondo will feature Enzo Ferrari memorabilia and serve dishes such as gnocchi al gorgonzola and Italian chocolate cake from head chef Alfonso Esposito. 

It follows the launch of Barbarella in London’s Canary Wharf in June 2025.

The group already operates an outpost of Edmondo in Hamburg.

Big Mamma Group has opened more than 35 restaurants globally over the past 10 years, having made its Italian debut in Milan in December 2023.

The group’s success saw its founders Victor Lugger and Tigrane Seydoux win the Restaurateur of the Year – Group at the 2023 Cateys, where the judges praised the group for creating “fabulously outrageous, flamboyant restaurants” at an ambitious scale and with sound financial credentials.
