Bovingdons wins St John's Waterloo catering contract

Bovingdons has secured a catering contract with St John's Waterloo for an undisclosed sum.

The partnership will see the south east-based catering company deliver commercial events operations for the Grade II*-listed church, which has capacity ranging from 240 seated diners to 600 people at standing receptions.

St John's recently completed a £5.5m restoration by architect Eric Parry and is open for corporate events, weddings, fashion shows, banquets, product launches and filming.

Revd Canon Giles Goddard, vicar of St John's Waterloo, said: "We're delighted to have Bovingdons on board as our venue partner and we look forward, with them, to welcoming many events guests here. Everyone who chooses St John's as a venue will be helping to fund the work we do with people at the threshold, including young people, asylum seekers and refugees, and those with experience of homelessness."

Jay Burgesson-Carter, director at Bovingdons, said: "We are honoured to have been appointed as sole caterer and venue management partner to the truly unique venue that is St John's. Situated opposite Waterloo mainline station, the busiest train station in the country, the venue offers an extraordinary range of versatile and inspiring spaces for events. It will truly be an honour to work in one of London's greatest historic buildings, in a setting so rich in heritage."

Bovingdons operates eight cafes and restaurants at venues including Leighton House Museum, Museum of London Docklands and Nonsuch Mansion. The group delivers over 400 events a year.
