Bredbury Hall on the market for £5.25m after closure

Bredbury Hall Hotel & Country Club in Stockport has been put on the market for around £5.25m.

The property has been closed since March and its parent company Newco Ventures entered administration on 9 October.

Now administrators FRP Advisory have instructed property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) to find a buyer for the site, which includes a 200-cover Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar and Grill restaurant, a lounge bar and brasserie, and a nightclub with capacity for 900 guests.

LSH are instructed to sell the freehold investment comprising 149 en-suite bedrooms, associated car parking and land.

The property had a net turnover of £4.1m for the year ending 2019.

Martin Davis, director of hotels and leisure at LSH, said: "The nature of Bredbury Hall offers a number of potential opportunities to rebrand and reposition the hotel, in particular, the re-purposing of the 16th-century barn, which could be utilised as either a wedding venue or spa and leisure facility.

"We believe that as well-established hotel and country club in the north-west, interest will be high for this sought-after investment opportunity".

Bredbury Hall was previously bought out of administration by hotelier Golam Sarwar, who is listed as a director at Newco Ventures, in 2015.

Offers are invited for the freehold interest with viewings via appointment only.
