Brindisa Kitchens closes Shoreditch restaurant after 10 years

Spanish restaurant group Brindisa Kitchens has closed its site in London's Shoreditch after a decade of trading.

But the company said it planned to launch a new central London location, with details to be announced shortly.

Co-owner Ratnesh Bagdai said: "After ten very happy years, Brindisa Kitchens Ltd will be moving from their Tapas Brindisa Shoreditch restaurant on Curtain Road to pastures new.

"It's been a great journey in the Shoreditch area but as always, as a small independent group we need to re-evaluate the estate from time to time.

"Details to follow in the coming weeks, of our new central London site."

Brinsida Kitchens runs five other London restaurants in Battersea, Richmond, South Kensington, Soho, and London Bridge.

The wider Brindisa business was founded by Monika Linton (pictured) in 1988 when it began supplying Spanish products to UK restaurants, delis and food halls.

Linton continues to run the business alongside Bagdai, and the pair opened their first tapas bar in London's Borough Market in 2004.
