The B Corp-certified restaurant arm of Jolly Hog butchers opened its doors in 2016
B Corp-certified Bristol restaurant Pigsty is to close next month after 10 years of trading.
Brothers Olly, Max and Josh Kohn started the business in 2007 as a sausage shop in the car park at Twickenham Stoop Stadium which has since grown into Jolly Hog butchers.
The trio launched the restaurant arm of the Jolly Hog as Pigsty in 2016, which became famous for its signature Whole Hog, Pig Macs and Pig Wings.
In 2022, the restaurant and meat business secured B Corp certification in recognition of its relationships with local suppliers and its use of “British outdoor-bred and RSCPA-assured pork”.
In a post on Instagram, the Pigsty team wrote: “Over the past decade, we’ve been incredibly proud to be part of making Wapping Wharf the thriving independent food and drink destination it is today. As much as we’ve loved it, the hospitality industry comes with its challenges and we have made the difficult decision to close Pigsty.
“We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey with us – from every member of the Pigsty crew, past and present, to everyone who has eaten, drunk and celebrated with us over the years. Thank you for making Pigsty what it is.”
Pigsty will close its doors on 4 October.
