Burger King begins phased reopening of restaurants

Burger King is to begin a phased reopening of its restaurants, starting with four sites that will be delivery only.

The restaurants open for business today will be Bristol (Bath Road and Eastgate), Coventry and Swindon.

Burger King said it had put in place procedures to safeguard employees and customers, with masks and gloves for staff, stringent cleaning measures and contactless delivery options through Deliveroo and Just Eat. It added that it was also implementing social distancing training.

Marketing director Katie Evans said: "We hope that reopening these restaurants for delivery services goes some way to lifting our customers' spirits in these difficult times.

"We are committed to providing 1,000 meals a week to NHS staff based in the vicinity of these restaurants as we want to demonstrate how appreciative everyone at Burger King UK is of their efforts in these unprecedented times."
