Caravan to open biggest site yet at London’s Southbank Centre

All-day dining and coffee roaster group Caravan will open its largest site to date at London’s Southbank Centre in November.

Caravan’s 10th opening will span 8,500 sq ft across two floors and an outdoor dining terrace. The development will see the reconstruction of two railway arches to create three dining spaces, two bars, a cocktail and listening lounge, event space and private dining room.

It will also host Caravan’s new concept, the Klink, which will open to the street and serve takeaway coffee, cocktails and a small food menu.

Laura Harper-Hinton, co-founder and chief executive at Caravan, said: “Caravan Southbank is a special moment for us. It’s our 10th restaurant and our biggest opening to date, and we couldn’t think of a more iconic place to reach that milestone.

“We love the Southbank Centre – it’s one of London’s most exciting destinations, bringing together food, culture and creativity in a way that feels completely unique.

"We’ve designed the restaurant to reflect that energy – a space where people can drop in for a morning coffee, settle in for breakfast, brunch and lunch, or spend the evening over cocktails and dinner. The space also gives us room to try new things, like our new takeaway coffee and cocktail bar, the Klink.”

Caravan was founded in 2010 on Exmouth Market by Laura Harper-Hinton, Chris Ammermann and Miles Kirby. It has eight restaurants in London and opened its first site in Manchester in 2024.

Earlier this year Jo Fleet stepped down from her role as managing director after four years with the business.
