Carousel to move from Marylebone to Fitzrovia

This November, Carousel restaurant will close its doors in London's Marylebone after seven years and reopen at a bigger site on Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia.

Opened in 2014 by the Templeton brothers, Carousel has hosted events, workshops and guest chef residencies, the latter of which it has hosted more than 300.

The new space, spanning three Georgian townhouses at a site that was formerly a Wahaca, will continue to host guest chefs while also expanding operations to include a wine bar; a 10-seater incubator space for new concepts and longer-term residencies; and separate spaces dedicated to private dining, workshops and events.

Chef Ollie Templeton's menu at the wine bar will comprise snacks and small plates with Mediterranean inflections and a list of wines and cocktails.

The chef residency space will feature seating built around a kitchen island so diners can watch the guest chef in action and will continue to give established and up-and-coming talent from all over the world a platform.

An intimate 10-seater offshoot for more casual dining will be located next door which is expected to welcome chefs and concepts every three to six months.

Upstairs will be dedicated to events and Carousel's programme of creative, culinary and cultural workshops. The large, flexible space will accommodate private parties and brand events for up to 200 guests. There will also be a separate private dining room for an additional 24 seated covers.
