CH&Co appoints Matthew Brown managing director for education

CH&Co has appointed Matthew Brown as managing director for its independent and state education business.

Brown joins from facilities management business Outco, where he was sales and marketing officer. Prior to that he held a number of roles at Compass Group including heading up its independent education division Chartwells.

At CH&Co he will lead over 800 colleagues working on delivering nutritious food for pupils, value for clients and developing new opportunities.

Brown said: "I've spent a large part of my career in the catering industry, and in particular education catering, and it's great to be back in an industry I love, working with such dedicated people. Everyone has made me feel incredibly welcome and I thank them for this."

He added that though there had been some negativity around education catering in the public sector, this role provided an opportunity to make a difference.

Brown said: "It's important that we put our food offering front and centre, bringing innovation and excitement across the client portfolio and developing our reputation for being a trusted partner and a great place to work.
