Chopstix Group acquires Chozen Noodle

Asian quick-service restaurant (QSR) group Chopstix has acquired its competitor Chozen Noodle for an undisclosed sum.

Chopstix Group will take over all of Chozen's 27 sites in motorway service areas (MSAs), which are managed via franchise agreements with Roadchef and Moto.

The group has existing franchise agreements with MSA operators such as Applegreen and Welcome Break, having launched its first holiday park location with Haven.

Its most recent acquisition brings the total number of MSA Chopstix sites to 53, which the group believes is an "important step in consolidating its position as the largest Asian QSR operator in the UK".

Chopstix Group added that all sites will continue to trade as Chozen "for the foreseeable future".

Menashe Sadik and Sam Elia, co-founders of Chopstix Group, added: "Ever since we opened our first franchised site with Applegreen, we've known that MSAs presented a huge growth opportunity for us.

"With our best-in-class processes, our business is perfectly suited to the franchise model, so we're excited to be able to work with first-rate franchisees like Roadchef and Moto. We're looking forward to working together to make these new locations even more successful and profitable in the future."

Chopstix Group was founded in 2002 and has since grown to 127 sites, with 90 operating under Chopstix Noodle Bar, 10 under Yangtze (which the group acquired in 2017) and 27 under Chozen.
