Claridge's names Jochem Meijerink as hotel manager

Jochem Meijerink has been appointed as hotel manager at the luxury Claridge’s hotel in Mayfair.

He joins the team following a decade at the Corinthia London, which he joined as front office manager in 2015 and progressed to hotel manager before leaving this year.

The hotelier relocated to London from his home country of the Netherlands in 2008 as an International Hospitality Management graduate.

Meijerink has followed his former colleague Thomas Kochs in making the move to Claridge’s. Kochs left the Corinthia in April after nearly 10 years as managing director to take up the same role at Claridge’s, where he was previously general manager.

Kochs said: “It is a great honour to welcome friend and long-standing colleague Jochem into the Claridge’s family. After working closely together at Corinthia London, I am excited to see what this new chapter holds for him at Claridge’s as we continue to grow and offer our guests the highest service standards possible.”

Meijerink’s appointment comes amid a period of change at Claridge’s, which recently completed a seven-year redevelopment which saw the launch of its first spa and swimming pool, an art gallery and café, an additional three storeys housing 72 suites and conversion of its rooftop to a penthouse with a private swimming pool and ornamental lake.

Claridge’s is part of the Maybourne luxury hotels group, which also operates the Connaught, the Berkeley, the Emory, the Maybourne Beverly Hills and the Maybourne Riviera.
