Farzi Café appoints new head chef

Dhwani Agarwal has been appointed head chef at Farzi Café in London's Haymarket, and will be launching a new menu at the restaurant next month.

The appointment marks a return to Massive Restaurants for Agarwal, who worked for the company for five years across various positions and restaurants. Her last position was head chef at Atul Kochhar's Kanisha in London.

She replaces Nikhil Mahale, who left the restaurant earlier this year.

Dishes on the pan-Indian menu include small plates such as avocado and waffle tokri, bhuna goat tacos with pomelo, Mangalorian rava fried prawns and dal chawal arancini.

Zorawar Kalra, son of Indian restaurateur Jiggs Kalra, opened Farzi Cafe London in January 2019. He launched the wider group, Massive Restaurants, in December 2012.

The company operates restaurants including Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra in Dubai, as well as Made in Punjab, pan-Asian bistro Pa Pa Ya, Kode, Masalabar and Thai bar and grill concept Botai in India.
