Contract caterer Elior has developed grab-and-go vegan fish & chip, curry and dessert ranges after finding that 39% of Brits find plant-based meals boring.

The selections include the vGood Chip Shop, Chilla Series Asian menu and City Bakes Co. cakes and bakes selection.

Mark Crowe, head of menu management at Elior UK, said: "By 2025, vegans and vegetarians will make up 25% of the UK population, but 80% of vegans say they can't find suitable food options on-the-go.

"What's more, 39% of Brits describe vegan meals as ‘boring'. Our new concepts respond to this clear gap in the market for fun, on-the-go vegan dishes, and challenge peoples' expectations of vegan food."

The City Bakes Co. range of cakes and bakes includes pecan brownies, ginger cookies, raspberry muffins and lemon drizzle loaf cake. The chip shop range features vegan ‘fish' made with banana blossom as well as vegan chicken and burgers made with seitan. It's new Asian menus include vegan curries, chaat sides, chutneys and strawberry chocolate lassi.

The vegan menus are available in all Elior sites across the B&I, defence, education, stadia and heritage sectors.
