Evolv Collection’s Coq d’Argent restaurant to relocate

The Evolv Collection’s Coq d’Argent restaurant is to move to One Millennium Bridge after nearly 30 years in the City of London.

French rooftop restaurant Coq d’Argent was founded by Sir Terence Conran in 1998 atop James Stirling’s No 1 Poultry building, overlooking the Bank of England.

As No. 1 Poultry undergoes a major redevelopment, Coq d’Argent will relocate to One Millennium Bridge, the 240,000 sq ft waterfront project that will feature landscaped rooftop gardens designed by Chelsea Flower Show gold medallist Andy Sturgeon.

The revamped restaurant is expected to open in January 2027.

Martin Williams, chief executive of the Calveton and Breal-backed Evolv Collection, said: “Coq d’Argent is woven into the fabric of the City – a restaurant where deals have been struck, engagements celebrated and countless bottles of great Burgundy shared for nearly 30 years.

“Sir Terence Conran created something truly iconic at No 1 Poultry, and it was essential that its next home be every bit as extraordinary. One Millennium Bridge, with its rooftop gardens and unrivalled views of St Paul’s and the Thames, is exactly that. This is not a farewell – it is the beginning of Coq d’Argent’s most exciting chapter yet. I am sure it will do Sir Terence proud.”

Duncan Roe, co-founder and partner of Beltane Asset Management, co-owners of the One Millennium Bridge, added: “We have selectively curated the building’s tenants and the Coq d’Argent, operated by the Evolv Collection, is the perfect fit for this unique restaurant space.”

Evolv Collection was founded by Conran in 1991 and today operates restaurants across London, Birmingham, Manchester and New York.
