Hill joined the five-AA-red-star Cheshire property in early 2022
Elliot Hill has announced his departure from the Chester Grosvenor hotel after nearly four years as its executive chef.
In a post on Instagram, the chef said: “It’s been an absolute honour and privilege being a custodian of the kitchens here at the Chester Grosvenor, a hotel I’ve been in admiration of since I was a little lad. The reaction over the last few weeks has been truly overwhelming; from both past and present hotel teams to our customers, suppliers and just other well-wishers, the messages have been truly humbling. It means the absolute world, an incredibly emotional few days, I will carry this with me for the rest of my life.
“There’s been a great amount of chefs and hospitality professionals that have been through these doors, and I’m so so proud to be one of them, and hope I’ve helped a few on the way too. Will always wear the ‘formerly of The Chester Grosvenor’ as a badge of honour with great pride.
“Huge thank you especially my team, your trust, hard work and dedication has been phenomenal. I’m so proud to have worked with you all.”
He added: “The hardest decision of my career, but so very excited for this opportunity and I can’t wait to share my next steps with everyone.”
Hill took over from chef Simon Radley, who had been in the role for more than 30 years at the five-AA-red-star Cheshire property.
As part of the transition, the Simon Radley at the Chester Grosvenor restaurant was relaunched as Arkle in March 2022.
Hill was formerly head chef at Liverpool’s Panoramic 34 restaurant and a 2021 National Chef of the Year finalist.
According to his Instagram bio, the chef is currently moving to Scotland.
The Chester Grosvenor dates back to 1865 and is now home to the two-AA-rosette La Brasserie and the three-AA-rosette Arkle.
