Final La Tasca site converted to Tapas Revolution

Spanish Restaurant Group has announced it will be relaunching the final La Tasca in Liverpool's Queen Square under its Tapas Revolution concept at the beginning of November.

James Picton, managing director of Spanish Restaurant Group - which acquired La Tasca in 2020 - said it was "reviewing options and formats for the La Tasca brand", but that the decision marked "the end of an era for the La Tasca in its current format".

The opening will be the 10th Tapas Revolution, which also has restaurants at Lakeside, Westfield, Sheffield, Brighton and Bath.

Executive chef Omar Allibhoy (pictured) said: "Since opening the first Tapas Revolution restaurant back in 2010, the brand continues to grow from strength to strength and we're delighted to now open our tenth restaurant here in Liverpool. The opening of the new restaurant provides a welcome boost to the local hospitality sector and we're truly excited to see what the future holds for Tapas Revolution."

Picton said: "We are incredibly proud and excited to continue to grow Tapas Revolution with the launch of our Liverpool bar and restaurant following the success and overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received since reopening our current locations and our newly opened Brighton and Lakeside restaurants.

"La Tasca at its peak had over 80 locations and was a much loved and sought-after brand within the sector. We are currently reviewing options and formats for the La Tasca brand of the future, this does however mark the end of an era for the La Tasca in its current format with Liverpool being the final location to be converted and refurbished since we acquired the brand in 2020."
