Foodservice Cateys 2025 shortlist revealed
The shortlist for the 2025 Foodservice Catey awards has been announced after more than 50 judges met last week to debate outstanding contract catering operators and individuals
The shortlist for those in the running to win a 2025 Foodservice Catey has been revealed, recognising the individuals, teams and businesses in the sector that have shown excellence over the past year.
More than 50 judges, chosen for their expertise and industry knowledge, met at Genuine Dining contract Fora on Chancery Lane in London to debate hundreds of nominees and produce shortlists across 19 award categories.
The awards, which are now in their 12th year, are set to take place at the Royal Lancaster London on 10 October. The celebratory event recognises outstanding businesses servicing education, events, healthcare, and business and industry catering, as well as chefs, procurement experts, salespeople and managers who excel in their roles.
Tim Axe, managing director of Genuine Dining and CSER Award judge, said: “It’s a privilege to judge the Foodservice Cateys. The sector clearly continues to be filled with unbelievable talent and entrepreneurial spirit. I’m very proud to be a part of our brilliant sector and recognise the best talent within it.”
Phil Shelley, senior operational and policy manager at NHS England, who judged categories including the Rising Star Award and Healthy Eating Champion, said the judging sessions “celebrate the fantastic work that is taking part in the food sector”.
He added: “What we have seen this year is a lift in the quantity and quality of entries. This creates plenty of debate in the shortlisting.”
The Caterer editor James Stagg said: “The Foodservice Cateys is always a special date in the calendar, where the sector is able to come together to celebrate their own, and each other’s, achievements.
“We can’t wait to welcome guests back to the Royal Lancaster London on 10 October for what promises to be another spectacular party that recognises the full range of roles in contract catering.”
