1879 Events Management takes catering on the road

1879 Events Management, which manages catering and events at the Stadium of Light and National Glass Centre, Sunderland, will be taking its catering on the road for events across the North East.

The service will be available for private and public functions such as wedding receptions and festivals, as well as corporate diners and award ceremonies.

The firm, a subsidiary of North East hospitality brand SoL, has managed a number of external events since its launch in 2012, including the annual Newcastle Pride festival at Newcastle's Town Moor, the Teesside heat of the North East Business Awards at Teesside University and the Sunderland Retail Awards in the city's Bridges Shopping Centre.

David Moses, general manager for 1879 Events Management, said: " Our vast experience in catering for large crowds means we have all the necessary abilities and transferrable tools to effectively deliver a complete event management solution for every occasion, including everything from food and wait staff to stewarding and ticketing.

"It's fantastic that we are now able to share those skills for events across the North East and look forward to working in venues right across the region in the future."

1879 Events Management recently extended its catering contract with Newcastle Pride, which attracted a record 71,000 visitors in 2015.

The five-year deal will see the firm supply all bars and equipment for the annual event, along with 200 staff members ranging from bartenders to security.
