7 Day Catering acquired by Servest Group
Independent caterer 7 Day Catering has been acquired by multi-service provider Servest Group for an undisclosed sum.
Servest, which counts cleaning, security, waste management and pest control among the services it offers, said the acquisition is part of its "ambitious" growth strategy and ultimate aim to become a "top five industry player".
The combined business is expected to generate annual sales of around £200m.
Henry Watts (pictured), 7 Day Catering's managing director, welcomed the move: "This is great news for our business as we are now able to provide an efficient integrated facilities offer to our clients where appropriate, as well as continuing to offer a high quality stand-alone catering service."
Watts, along with the senior management team of David Griffiths and Mark Johnson, will continue to head the company and said that for all at 7 Day Catering it will be business as usual. The senior management team members will also retain their equity in the business.
Rob Legge, chief executive of Servest Group UK, said: "This acquisition is part of our ambitious growth strategy which we aim to achieve through a mix of organic growth and further acquisitions.
"More and more customers recognise the cost and time-saving benefits of having one point of contact for all their outsourced facilities services, from cleaning and catering to security and pest control."
7 Day Catering was founded by chairman Mark Boothright in 1990. It currently employs 2,500 people and provides services to more than 180 clients in the B&I and education sectors. It has an annual turnover of £80m.
