ACC Liverpool teams up with Virgin Trains to launch business tourism travel department

Event venue ACC Liverpool has announced a new partnership with Virgin Trains, which sees the launch of a dedicated business tourism group travel department for Liverpool as a leading conference destination.

The group reservations team will work with ACC Liverpool clients to ensure specific travel requirements are met for between 10 and 1,000 conference delegates at any one time on Virgin Trains.

Booking rail travel via this service will give conference organisers special discounted fares for delegates, the option to arrange an exclusive carriage or to charter an entire train for up to 535 passengers.

At the conference organisers' request, the group travel department will also arrange bespoke on-board branding, company collateral and conference literature, enabling delegates to work on board and arrive at ACC Liverpool prepared for their conference.

Upon arrival at Liverpool's Lime Street station, delegates can be welcomed with branded welcome posters, a meet-and-greet service as well as an onward travel service.

Bob Prattey, chief executive of ACC Liverpool, said: "We wanted to streamline the process conference organisers undergo when booking events. With Liverpool's excellent transport links we can assist in the important role that travel plays when attending conferences."

The partnership was announced at the 5th annual London showcase of ACC (Arena and Convention Centre) Liverpool, which comprises BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, held at One Whitehall this week. Catering at the event venue is delivered by Heathcotes Outside.
