Ampersand gains approved status at the Museum of London and the Cutty Sark

Ampersand has added the Museum of London and the Cutty Sark to its growing list of venues in the capital at which it has approved caterer status, the company has announced.

The caterer, part of CH&Co, was also recently named as one of 11 caterers to make it on to the approved list for the Science Museum for 2012-2014.

The Museum of London, which has recently undergone a £20m refurbishment ahead of the London 2012 Olympics, features more than 3,000sq m of event space.

The 19th-century clipper Cutty Sark, in Greenwich, which reopened this weekend after a £50m restoration project following a devastating fire in 2006, will make its three decks available for hire from summer 2012.

It also features a new space built directly under the hull of the ship, which can accommodate 200 people for formal dining or 300 for receptions.

The caterer said that all three venues chose Ampersand for its creativity, flexibility, expertise and attention to detail.

Ben Lheureux, operations manager at the Science Museum, said: "Our suppliers must combine bespoke creativity and flexibility with competitive pricing and world-class customer care. Ampersand fits the bill perfectly."

Ampersand head of sales & operations Natalie Mainwaring added: "Three such prestigious appointments in the past month is a trend that is hard to ignore.

"We create food experiences that guests will treasure forever and each event will be totally tailored to these unique venues. We are absolutely delighted to be working with them and taking these new partnerships forward."

Other Ampersand clients include: Chiswick House, Trinity House, Kensington Palace, the Royal Institute of British Architects, Banqueting House, London Zoo and Kew Palace.
