Andrew Etherington becomes FCSI chairman

Andrew Etherington, director of Andrew Etherington Associates, has taken up the role of chairman of the Foodservice Consultants Society UK and Ireland (FCSI).

He succeeds Niccola Boyd-Stevenson, managing director of Panache Consultancy, who steps down from the role after her two-year term.

The official handover took place at the FCSI's Annual General Meeting on 2 July, hosted by Sodexo at HMS Belfast, where Etherington set out his ‘Back to Basics' agenda for the society.

He said: "Niccola has made an incredible contribution to FCSI and she leaves behind a tremendous legacy for me to follow. With her guidance I will seek to continue to raise awareness of the expertise that professional consultants can deliver to all our clients and to campaign on the most significant issues that our industry faces.

"Over the last few years we've worked hard to improve the value that we deliver to our members and the industry at large. My vision is to continue this journey through my ‘Back to Basics' campaign. This will include delivering even more value for our members by creating new business opportunities, growing our membership and continuing to work collaboratively with other industry associations. I'll also be working with our young professional members on fresh ideas and new ways of working to lay the foundations of our society for the future."

To underpin Etherington's new focus, FCSI will create the new role of business development and industry relations manager who will be specifically responsible for attracting new members, improving internal and external communications and ensuring that strategic and policy work is carried out efficiently and effectively.
