Andy Jones of ISS announces his retirement

Andy Jones, service development director of worldwide catering and facility services company ISS, has announced his retirement.

The Catey award winner, who was approaching 21 years with the company, shared his news with The Caterer, and said: "I leave with great memories, having worked with so many inspiring people.

"I've been able to serve patients and learn what goes towards their long-term care and recovery, and having been a patient myself recently, I've seen at first hand that we still have more work to do."

Jones, who won the Public Sector Caterer Award at the 2012 Cateys, continues as the current past chair of the Hospital Caterers Association, working alongside Phil Shelley, and has set up his own consultancy, A J Associates, to work alongside clients in the health and social care sectors to assist with contracts and advise on improving standards.

Jones's first role in the public sector was as a contract catering manager with Leicester General Hospital where he started as a trainee chef in 1981.
