Aramark wins 10-year contract extension at Chichester College
Aramark has won a 10-year catering contract renewal at Chichester College worth £24m.
The catering site and its facilities are currently undergoing a revamp in order to meet the changing needs of the college's 15,000 students, including the introduction of high street brands.
The Stop'n'Shop has been turned into the town's only Subway restaurant while a Costa coffee bar replaces the existing café.
The next phase of the project includes the refurbishment of Coasters restaurant and a redesigned kitchen that incorporates up-to-date techonology and energy-saving equipment.
There will be a new live theatre stir-fry wok bar as well as freshly made pizzas and omelettes to complement the wide range of healthy options.
Mark Faulkner chief operating officer, Aramark, said that the introduction of Subway and Costa has already exceeded expectation. "We have had queues of students and staff all waiting to sample the food and drink on offer. It's been extraordinary," he explained.
"We know that innovation and research are vital in today's market. Consumers are incredibly discerning and that means keeping ahead of the game and looking for ways to constantly evolve and that is what we have focused on doing here, innovating."
Julie Sleeman, chief operating officer at Chichester College added: "Several of Aramark's staff have furthered their own training through the college's hospitality courses and both parties support this type of progression within the partnership."
Aramark first won the contract five-years ago and the extension is scheduled to commence this month.
