Aramark wins £2.4m Wirral Metropolitan College catering contract
Contract caterer Aramark has got to work on a new £2.4m education contract at Wirral Metropolitan College.
The five-year deal sees the company invest in the refurbishment of the dining space, a new Starbucks café and a new food offer at the split campus site in Birkenhead.
The Conway Park campus features a refurbished ground floor reception and catering area, creating a new "grab and go" outlet and a new social space for students.
Designed together with both students and the college, the food offer also features internationally-influenced street food as well as theatre cookery.
Meanwhile, the Twelve Quays campus offers a hot meal service, a "grab and go" offer and the Starbucks café.
"The education market is increasingly competitive and outstanding new facilities can be a real differentiator for both staff and students. We look forward to developing our proposition further throughout the life of the contract."
Sue Wysocki, marketing manager for the college, added: "Aramark has been very receptive to the ideas and contributions from college students, who have played an important role in informing both the design of the area layout, and also the menu offer."
The news of this latest contract win in the further and higher education sector comes hot on the heels of last week's announcement that Aramark had picked up a £7m bundled services deal at the University of Worcester.
Other new academic clients this year include the University of Salford, Sunderland and New College Durham, the University of Westminster and Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College.
