Back to the Floor dinner raises £53,000 for Hospitality Action

It was the second time that the event had been held. In 2013 the dinner raised £25,000 at Pennyhill Park for Hospitality Action, with the charity benefitting again at this year's event held at the Langham London.

More than 200 guests gathered at the fundraising dinner which saw Danny Pecorelli of Exclusive Hotels & Venues, Philip Newman-Hall of Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, Duncan Palmer of the Langham, London and Jonathan Raggett of Red Carnation Hotels among the group of 30 star waiters.

Meanwhile, the guest sommeliers included Julia Sibley of the Savoy Educational Trust, Simon Numphud of AA Hotel Services and Mark Lewis of The Caterer.

Philip Newman-Hall said: "The passion, camaraderie and team effort was such fun to be a part of. I was so proud to hear that we had all helped to raise £53,000 for such a great cause."

Penny Moore, chief executive of Hospitality Action, added: "It was all that we anticipated and more. We are indebted to Danny Pecorelli, Philip Newman-Hall and Duncan Palmer for making this possible and a huge thank you to all involved."

Last year Hospitality Action spent £595,046 helping nearly 1,800 past and present hospitality workers that had, of which 79% were below the age of 60.
