BaxterStorey wins contract to cater at new high-tech office building in London's Waterloo
Independent foodservice operator BaxterStorey has won the catering contract at one of London's most eccentric new office buildings, @Waterloo, in an area of Southwark predicted to become the "new Shoreditch".
Its new catering operation, Boundary Coffee House, Kitchen & Bar, will serve a number of blue-chip offices in the high-tech building between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, as well as being open to the public.
BaxterStorey worked with @Waterloo's developer, The Office Space In Town, to create a stylish, relaxed high-spec concept that aims to compete with the high street. The chic 1920s-inspired design features classic bistro chairs, handmade zinc tables reclaimed shelving and additional seating outside.
Menu items will be carefully sourced and freshly made. They include home-made pastries and bacon-and-egg muffins at breakfast, and ciabattas, paninis and sandwiches made daily using ingredients from Chegworth Valley farm in Kent. In a bid to beat the usual high street offerings, BaxterStorey will also introduce "more than a soup".
Once established, Boundary will also open during the evenings, serving wine and handcrafted bottled beers with charcuiterie sharing boards and nibbles. It will be aimed at early-evening client meetings or social catch-ups.
