BaxterStorey wins Queen Margaret University catering deal
BaxterStorey has won a £3m contract to provide catering services to the Queen Margarent University in Edinburgh.
The deal, procured through the University of Edinburgh's procurement department, will see BaxterStorey provide catering including hospitality to both Queen Margaret University (QMU) and Queen Margaret University Students Union (QMUSU).
It will also run a coffee shop and retail shop in QMU, as well as bars in QMU and QMUSU
The university's core catering services are provided through three separate catering outlets, all serviced from a modern kitchen area. There is a requirement in the contract for a wide range of hospitality, with the university providing full catering packages for up to 700 visiting students attending summer schools in the university.
BaxterStorey will also be required to pay the living wage to staff, as set by the Living Wage Foundation.
A total of four companies bid for the contract, which is a three-year deal with the option to extend for a further two years.
