BaxterStorey wins Virgin Atlantic deal from Compass Group
BaxterStorey has taken two contracts from rival Compass Group, including the staff feeding contract at Virgin Atlantic Airways.
The caterer, which merged with Holroyd Howe last December, will provide staff feeding and hospitality services at Virgin Atlantic's head office and training base in Crawley, West Sussex, as well as at its hanger at Heathrow Airport in west London.
The three-year deal, previously run by Compass's Restaurant Associates, also includes running retail outlets for Virgin employees selling a range of non-food items.
Sarah Godfrey, general manager, property and facilities at Virgin Atlantic, said of the company's decision to appoint the caterer: "BaxterStorey's attention to wider issues that have such a tremendous impact on the quality of food delivered, such as their approach to sustainability, their management style and their commitment to training, were totally unsurpassed."
BaxterStorey has also taken over the catering at engineering services company Halcrow in a three-year deal previously run by Compass's Eurest division at its site in Swindon.
BaxterStorey is also believed to have won the contract at IT hardware and software supplier Sun Microsystems, which was previously run by Charlton House.
Earlier this year the caterer won a deal to caterer for the Honda Formula One team adding to its existing motorsport client the Red Bull Racing Team.
