Bennett Hay apprentice scheme proves a success
Contract caterer Bennett Hay has kicked off its search for a new apprentice following the initial success of its first programme launched earlier this year.
Alex Quang (pictured), Bennett Hay's first apprentice, has just completed his first round of experience-based learning and is moving on to his second base.
Quang said: "My experience as an apprentice has been extremely rewarding. I'm not just learning how to cook; I'm learning how to drive in the hospitality industry and reach my full potential as a chef."
Bennett Hay launched its Apprentice Programme to create an opportunity for a young person to earn a qualification, hands-on experience and a network of contacts.
The one-year programme includes work experience in cafés, restaurants, events and fine dining complemented by mentoring and tutoring for an NVQ in food preparation. Where possible, apprentices will be found a job placement with Bennett Hay when they complete their training.

Robin Hay said: "This is a great opportunity to join a young company making its mark in the world of hospitality with a new approach. "This is just the start as we plan to reach out to the wider facilities management community covering each service area from reception to concierge to hospitality and housekeeping."
