Call for Roux Scholarship entries are deadline approaches

The deadline for this year's Roux Scholarship is fast approaching, with the closing date for entries being next Monday (15 January).

As well as a £3,000 cash prize, the 2007 Roux Scholar will have a three month stage at a Michelin-starred property organised by the Savoy Educational Trust, as well as trips to Italy courtesy of L'Unico, Champagne from Champagne Gosset and a week in New York with Restaurant Associates.

This year's jury includes chef and food writer Charles Campion, who has been seconded as a guest judge. He will join Heston Blumenthal, Brian Turner, Gary Rhodes, David Nicholls, Andrew Fairlie and the Roux family in the form of Albert, Michel, Alain and Michel Jnr.

Past winners and current Michelin star holders include chefs Sat Bains, Steve Drake and André Garrett.

Further details and entry forms are available from Alison Jee on 020 8744 0744 or at www.rouxscholarship.co.uk
