Caterer Edwards & Blake boost sales to more than £8m
East Anglian contract catering firm Edwards & Blake has announced strong trading results with annual turnover for 2009 exceeding £8m.
The performance of the Norfolk-based firm was boosted by a string of high profile contracts across the region worth £2m in total.
New clients include Bury St. Edmunds brewer and pub operator Greene King, the Bird's Eye plant at Lowestoft and the Premier Foods factory at Wisbech.
Shirley Edwards and Caroline Blake, both experienced managers in the contract catering industry, set up the company in 1998. It now employs 400 staff.
Edwards, the Shine Business Owner of the Year in 2007, said: "We're absolutely delighted that Edwards & Blake is enjoying its best year ever and winning major new contracts.
"It is a regionally based company and can therefore offer a much more personal, flexible and responsive service."
About 70% of Blake & Edwards' trade is in business and industry, with the rest split between education contracts in schools, nurseries and colleges.
