CH&Co builds mobile kitchen for Kids Company charity
Independent catering group CH&Co has partnered with Kids Company to build a fully functioning mobile kitchen to support the charity's commitment to improve disadvantaged children's access to good food.
Kids Company, set up in 1996 by Camila Batmanghelidjh, aims to provide practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children and now reaches 17,000 of them across London.
CH&Co founder Robyn Jones, who is spearheading the new project, described the work of Kids Company as at the same time both humbling and inspiring.
"As an entrepreneurial business we know what it means to start from scratch and achieve your dream," she said.
"Too many children enjoy no such hope. They face a future with no reasonable chance of enjoying a happy, fulfilling upbringing, or of a future free from fear, worry, or poverty. Kids Company understands this, and helps young people facing crushing challenges find the courage, support and opportunity to rise from despair to hope."
Batmanghelidjh said: "We are delighted and proud that CH&Co has chosen to help Kids Company achieve its goals. The children we help not only negotiate significant challenges at home, but also face immense threat in their neighbourhoods.
"They have experienced enormous challenges with huge courage and our services empower them to lead positive and fulfilling lives."
