CH&Co Group donates £20,000 to Child.org
CH&Co Group has donated more than £20,000 over the past year to the children's charity Child.org.
The catering and hospitality group donates 1p from every bottle of own-label water sold at its sites and 50p per 20 litre drum of recycled rapeseed oil.
It forms part of the group's ongoing commitment to supporting communities in some of the most deprived areas of the world.
Caroline Fry, deputy CEO of CH&Co Group, said: "Where Child.org works in rural Kenya, over 70% of children have lost at least one parent, most to HIV/AIDS. Without guardians, thousands of children face unimaginable obstacles in life and struggle with access to food, school and support.
"By working with Child.org through our bottled water and rapeseed oil initiatives, we've helped to fund the Omen children's centre, an incredible project that provides children with these fundamental rights that we all take for granted. It's both uplifting and humbling to know that our contribution has helped enable hundreds of children to attend school and feel healthy, fed and safe.
"You only have to look at the photos of the smiling children at the centre to see the real difference the project makes. We're committed to continuing our support of Child.org's incredibly important work."
Thomas Muirhead, managing director at Child.org, added: "Nutrition and clean water are crucial in the lives of young children, and CH&Co Group understands better than anyone. Their support has been incredible and the impact on the children of Omen has been transformational."
The money donated by CH&Co Group has been directly invested in the Omen children's centre project in Kenya, which provides a safe haven for the most vulnerable children supplying food, psycho-social support and access to healthcare and education.
