CH&Co launches chef nutrition training scheme

Independent contract caterer CH&Co has launched a new nutrition training programme for its chefs.

Created by the company's consultant nutritionist Amanda Ursell and its executive chef Jim Wealands, the modular training course will cover carbohydrates, fats, protein, fibre, vitamins, minerals and super nutrients.

The aim is to ensure CH&Co's 500 chefs have an in-depth understanding of nutrition, which they can then combine with their cheffing skills to create healthy food for the diners that eat around 45,000 of their meals daily in the workplace, London visitor attractions and events venues.

Caroline Fry, chief executive of CH&CO's business and industry arm commented: "We are a business that cooks everything fresh, with no dependence on centralised recipes or portion control.

"With Amanda and Jim coaching our chefs on nutrition, we are perfectly placed to give our talented chefs complete freedom to create the meals that inspire them, safe in the knowledge that they have an eye on the healthiness of these meals too."
