Compass chairman appointed non-exec director of McDonald's

Compass Group chairman Paul Walsh has been appointed a non-executive director of McDonald's.

Walsh took over from Sir Roy Gardner as chairman of the foodservice giant in 2014 following 12 years as chief executive of drinks company Diageo, having originally joined Compass' board in 1997. He is also a board member of Unilever, FedEx Corporation and Avanti Communications.

Compass Group generated annual revenues of £23.2b in the year to 30 September 2018. It operates in around 50 countries, employs and engages around 600,000 people and serves more than 5.5 billion meals a year.
