Compass creates one-stop shop for health and wellbeing at Nuffield Health
Compass Group has partnered with Nuffield Health to create a "one-stop shop" for health and wellbeing in the workplace.
The catering giant will commence work with the social enterprise in the New Year, on a collaborative offer to clients: combined marketing of fitness, wellness and healthy eating options; healthy menu and food offers; fitness and nutrition seminars and programmes; nutrition counselling; health and wellness fairs and a food calculator for assessing nutritional intake.
It will also help client organisations deliver on the Government's Public Health Responsibility Deal launched earlier this year, to provide consumers with nutritional information and healthier meal choices.
The programme is based on a similar one run by Compass Group North America, which partnered with New York fitness provider Plus One in 2010.
Jason Leek, managing director for business excellence at Compass Group UK & Ireland, said that health and wellbeing was an important part of the company's strategy.
"We strive to understand client demand, find exciting new solutions and stay at the forefront of innovation," he explained. "This partnership ties together our own culinary expertise with Nuffield Health's unrivalled knowledge of health, fitness and wellbeing. For clients and customers, this is a one-stop shop for an all-round healthier lifestyle."
David Brame, commercial director, corporate fitness, at Nuffield Health, added: "We are looking forward to extending the reach of our Food Calculator in January when the pilot scheme begins, providing thousands of workers with a quick and easy way to evaluate the food they eat.
"This partnership strengthens our continuing commitment to improve the health and wellbeing of UK consumers."
