Compass' ESS division wins deal with Dutch oil and gas company
ESS Support Services Worldwide, the offshore and remote business sector of Compass Group, has been awarded a new contract in the Netherlands with Wintershall Noordzee BV.
The five-year contract, which is estimated to be worth in excess of £10m, covers nine manned and 15 unmanned satellite installations in the Dutch and German sector of the North Sea.
It will be supported and managed by the ESS operations team based in Den Helder, Netherlands. The team has already overseen the transition of 30 staff as part of the contract.
Alain Morize, ESS managing director, said the company is delighted to start a new partnership with Wintershall.
"In a period when aspects of oil and gas activity are on hold in the UK, it is important to grow our business internationally. Therefore this is a great win to show that our approach to service delivery and personnel management is valued and transferrable to other sectors worldwide," he added.
Ronald Laarhoven, Wintershall procurement manager, also commented: "We undertook a detailed pre-qualification and tender exercise to find the right partner for this key service. ESS' tender and clarification response best met our criteria for selection and we look forward to working with them to support our personnel offshore."
