Compass Group promotes Nick Vadis to newly created role of UK executive chef
Contract caterer Compass Group has promoted Nick Vadis into the newly created role of UK executive chef.
The position, which Vadis will take up in August, is intended to strengthen the company's focus on culinary expertise and will see the chef reporting directly to John Pain, marketing director at Compass UK & Ireland.
Vadis, currently executive chef for Eurest at British Airways and chairman of the Craft Guild of Chefs, will oversee four business sector specific chefs in his new role.
The first to be appointed is Jeremy Ford who becomes executive chef at Restaurant Associates (RA), the company's fine-dining arm. Ford was executive chef for hospitality within RA.
Compass is currently in the process of recruiting executive chefs to head up its business and industry; health, education, defence and government; and sport, leisure and hospitality divisions, also.
John Pain, marketing director at Compass UK & Ireland, said: "Compass places culinary expertise at the very heart of its business and has some exceptionally talented chefs. Nick and Jeremy will be looking to harness this talent, developing our chefs to their full potential."
