Compass Group's SO Deli brand recognised in industry awards

Compass Group's SO Deli brand, part of fine-dining division Restaurant Associates, has been recognised at the Institute of Grocery Distribution (IGD) Food Industry Awards 2009.

The brand was "highly recommended" in the General Mills Award for the Consumer Understanding category. The overall winner was Birds Eye for its ‘Simply Bake to Perfection' range.

So Deli has won two awards this year: the Best Workplace Catering Solution at the Menu Innovation Network's inaugural Menu Innovation and Development Awards, in March; and in May, the joint top position for Workplace Sandwich Supplier of the Year.

The SO Deli brand, developed two years ago, is a delicatessen offering used within Restaurant Associates' workplace client sites, which focuses on product provenance and fresh ingredients.
