Compass reveals revenue growth of 5.5% in half year figures

Compass has predicted that it will deliver organic revenue growth of 5.5% in its half year figures.

Ahead of the publication of its results next month the catering giant said that operating profit for the half year to 31 March 2015 was likely to show an improvement of around 10 basis points.

In a statement Compass said: "We are seeing good levels of new business, high retention rates, and modest like for like revenue growth."

Organic growth in Europe and Japan is expected to be 0.5%, driven by new business wins.

The statement added: "Compass is having a strong first half and our expectations for the full year remain positive. However, the economic environment in some of our emerging markets is uncertain, and lower commodity prices are impacting our offshore and remote business.

"Nevertheless, our pipeline of new contracts is encouraging, and our continued focus on organic growth and efficiencies gives us confidence in achieving another year of delivery."
