Compass to signs Costa Coffee deal for Hampshire hospital

Compass Group has signed a seven-year deal with construction and facilities management firm Carillion to install and manage a Costa Coffee outlet at the new Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, Hampshire.

The contract, worth £1.75m in annual revenue, also includes the opening and running of an Amigo convenience store.

Lynn King, Compass business director-retail, specialist markets, said: "Visitors, staff and patients increasingly expect a high quality, high street experience at hospitals. They appreciate the choice of convenience.

"We are very pleased to begin a relationship with Carillion at the fantastic new Queen Alexandra Hospital."

Compass has opened similar retail outlets in two other hospitals in the South recently: Costa Coffee outlets were introduced to Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester in September 2008 and Basingstoke in July 2009.
