Compass wins £12m Beales department store deal
Compass Group has bagged a £12m deal with department store retailer Beales to provide catering across its sites.
The firm's Instore division will operate the contract at 22 public cafés and restaurants. As part of the deal Compass said it would invest in new equipment for the outlets and implement its customer experience training programme.
Beales flagship store, based in Bournemouth, opened in 1881. Since then it has grown to a family of 13 stores. It recently acquired Westgate Department Stores, which has taken its combined portfolio to 32 stores.
Instore managing director Caron Naylor said: "Instore has successfully forged an outstanding relationship with many of the UK's leading retailers to provide them and their customers with a restaurant and café amenity of excellence and we are looking forward to developing our relationship with Beales."
Tony Brown, CEO of Beales, added: "We are delighted to have been able to come to an agreement with Compass. Above all, we strive to achieve service, value and choice for our customers. Joining forces with Compass will serve to improve on our current offer for our customers."
