Compass wins £2.4m contract with Hampshire Garden Centre

Foodservice firm Compass Group has won a £2.4m contract with Garsons Garden Centre in Titchfield, Hampshire.

The first such garden centre deal for the group, the five-year contract with the Compass Instore team will include a refurbishment of the centre's public restaurant to reflect the centre's design, including the use of materials such as slate, wood and astroturf.

There will also be a new fresh food offer, including breakfast dishes such as porridge and a Full English, plus lunchtime options such as deep-dish quiches and Sunday roasts.

A selection of baked muffins, scones and brownies will also be available, along with drinks including Costa coffee, beer, wine and cider.

Andy Rees, Business Director for Instore, said: "With our expertise there's a lot we can add to create a great customer experience for garden enthusiasts."

Ben Thompson, director at Garsons, said that Compass had secured the contract thanks to its food and drinks knowledge, operational expertise, and design ideas.

Compass Group operates food and services facilities across 10,000 sites across the UK and Ireland. Its sectors include sports venues, hospitals, schools and oil rigs.

Recent high-profile deals for the firm include a £20m catering contract at long-term partner Queen Elizabeth II Conference centre, and a £50m extension of its existing deal with Surrey Country Cricket Club.
