Compass wins £35m deal with indoor ski slope
Compass Group has won a 10-year £35m contract to cater at Chill Factore, the £31m indoor ski slope in Manchester that opened in 2007.
Under the terms of the deal, Compass' leisure division, Milburns, will oversee the opening of a new Costa Coffee at the venue, while the existing Chilli's Bar, overlooking the 180 metre slope, and the themed Mont Blanc restaurant will be revamped.
Milburns will also manage the conference and events business at Chill Factore, which accommodates approximately 300 people for a drinks reception or 200 guests for dinner. Businesses and private parties can hire out various spaces at the venue including Chilli's Bar with its slope-side view.
Andrew Dixon, marketing director of Chill Factore, said, "We have joined forces with Milburns to combine the company's catering expertise with the first-rate ski-board-climb-shop-dine experience we provide at Chill Factore.
"We anticipate this to be a highly successful partnership where real snow and an authentic après-ski experience come together."
Matthew Thompson, managing director of sports, leisure and hospitality at Compass Group, added: "Working with Chill Factore allows the Milburns team to combine expertise accrued from working in leisure complexes with our extensive knowledge of attractions in and around Manchester."
